Decorations & Lights Ministry

The house I am about to build will be great, because our God is greater than all other gods. — 2 Chronicles 2:5

The Service: Designing and executing the visual aesthetics for the altar, stage, and statues. They specialize in creating backdrops for Masses, dressing the Madha, and preparing “chapprams” for feasts.

The Decoration & Lights Ministry brings beauty and reverence to the SMTC’s sacred spaces. Through creative backdrops and intricate lighting, they transform ordinary halls into holy sanctuaries for the Mass and special events. Their artistry in dressing the statues of saints and the Blessed Mother helps the community visualize the glory of heaven and the richness of our Catholic tradition.

Their work is particularly visible during the major feasts of the Church. The preparation of the “Chappram” (processional carriage) is a labor of love that involves hours of detailed work with flowers, fabric, and lights. This ministry ensures that the visual elements of our celebrations are consistent with the solemnity of the occasion, creating an atmosphere that inspires devotion and awe among the faithful.

Beyond the altar, the team supports all SMTC programs, including cultural events and the World of Children (WOC). By managing stage setups and background designs, they provide a professional and festive environment for our community to celebrate its identity. Their creative vision is a gift that enhances every gathering, reminding us that we serve a God of beauty and light.
