Our Patron

St. Francis of Assisi abandoned a life of wealth to embrace “Lady Poverty.” He founded the Franciscan Order and is known for his love of nature, animals, and the poor. He is the first recorded saint to receive the Stigmata, the wounds of Christ.

• Community Spirit: Operating in the industrial and residential landscape of Al Quoz, our Anbiyam seeks to be an “Oasis of Peace.” Inspired by St. Francis, we emphasize simplicity and brotherly love. In an area where many are far from their families, our Anbiyam serves as a vital emotional and spiritual anchor. Our community spirit is one of “humble service.” We look for Christ in the faces of the poor and the marginalized. Our weekly prayers are a time to strip away the stresses of labour and find joy in the presence of God and one another. We strive to live out the Canticle of the Creatures by respecting everyone we encounter in our diverse neighbourhood.
